The "Poetic Jamming" was born from the gathering of a group of writers willing to share their poetic work, and that in February 2011 found the possibility to do it at the Ateneo de Caracas, in this institution’s beautiful Terrace.
In a Poetic Jamming each author reads their texts taking as a point of departure the one previously read. There isn’t a specific order, not everyone has to participate all the time. On the contrary, only when “called” by a previously read poem, the new poet jumps in, and reads his or hers.
Willing to preserve and concentrate the experience, we designed and edited the Mermeladas para llevar (Jams to go), artist plaquettes that gather some of the participant poets and texts.
Los Jammings Poéticos nacieron gracias a la congregación de amigos escritores buscando compartir su trabajo poético, y que encontraron una oportunidad para hacerlo en los espacios del Ateneo de Caracas en febrero de 2011.
En un Jamming se leen en voz alta textos poéticos tomando como trampolín y alas al texto precedente. Es un encuentro que nace de la idea de la descarga y la improvisación, y que se cristaliza en un recital estilo jam y contrapunto.
Deseosos de conservar la experiencia y concentrarla en un formato que permitiera su réplica y su disfrute a salvo del tiempo que pasa inclemente, decidimos crear Mermeladas para llevar.
